All classes at Ibaraki University's department are in the Japanese language. Application procedures and entrance exams for undergraduates are also in the Japanese language. Applicants must meet the requirements of nationality, residence status, school curriculum, Japan study abroad examination administered by the Japan Student Services Organization, and private English language examination (TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS). The fulfillment of these requirements makes it possible for you to apply for the entrance examination. The enrollment to the undergraduate school takes place in April.

The research student's enrollment period is generally less than one year. Course students can take one or more course subjects offered by Ibaraki University as "Credited Auditors." Course students can earn credits if the student takes class subjects and completes certain grades in exams. Course students are eligible to get enrolled as course students for one year. Please confirm the admission schedule and application method in the admission guide for the desired undergraduate or graduate school. Also, it is limited to domestic residents.
Also, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences do not accept proxy applications for applying for the Certificate of Eligibility for Status of Residence.
